Candice Truempert-Lee spent the early part of her life in Europe. Educated in London, England and Aix-en-Provence, France, she then went on to work on many high end interior projects in London and around Europe. This included working for the five star hotel company, Rocco Forte Hotels - a member of Leading Hotels of the World. There she was trained by Olga Polizzi, the Design Director and part owner of the hotel chain, which involved traveling all over Europe, designing and styling the hotels in the collection. It was while at Rocco Forte that Candice developed a love for sourcing vintage one-off pieces to put in these hotels as a nod to the local history, as well as learning to create a unique and comfortable environment for each guest whilst providing them with excellent service. After relocating to San Diego, CA, she went on to work on many other hotels, restaurants and spas as well as designing the interiors of a 100,000 sq ft palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
As a keen traveler who has been all over the world, Candice is very much inspired by other cultures, places and eras and often likes to reference these in her work, mixing both modern, global and vintage pieces to create a personalized, layered look that gives the space a sense of meaning. Natural light flow and textures - often injecting color into a scheme through art work - are her modus operandi.
Today Candice enjoys applying everything she’s learned from her five star hospitality background to the residential environment, and really getting to know the homeowners and solving their needs. Her designs have a strong focus on wellness in the home and a passion for using well-crafted, one-off, beautifully detailed pieces that endure and stand the test of time. Providing clients with a happy, comfortable space where they want to relax with family and friends gives her an enormous sense of satisfaction.
